Has anyone tried sigma 35 art f1.4, canon 135 f2.0 and 70-200 f4 is ii. I've got one in the post and the first two lenses you mention will be amongst the first that I test out. I found the autofocus of the 135L using the regular Canon EF-EF-M adapter was only ok with my M50. If the focus was way off it would struggle to find focus.
We know from experience that, for example, the Canon EF 70-200 mm f/2.8 L IS III also works well with both the 1.4x and 2x Extender. An additional bonus that the use of an Extender gives you is to increase the image scale in the near range.
EOS 6D + EF 100-400mmL II + EF 2x III Extender. Shot with the Live View LCD.. Using the EF 2x III Extender on the popular EF 135mm f/2 USM lens, I noticed that the 'negative aspects' of the lens were magnified. Specifically Chromatic Aberration. Note that this is a property of the lens and NOT the Extender.
Yes. 27 Dec 2023. #1. Got a 2X Extender from Santa. It was a nice day yesterday so I popped out to a local pond to try it out with the 70-200 zoom. having read reviews and watched vids and sorting advice on here I was still unsure what to expect. when strapped to my 90D. Yes it slows the AF a little and you loose 2 stops but the results seem

Then I sold the 70-200 2.8 and swapped it for a 70-200 f4 L IS. The newer f4 IS was much sharper than its older 2.8 cousin so I tried the 1.4x on that and was a little more impressed, though by that time I already had a 300mm f4 IS , so the 280mm reach of the 70-200 + 1.4 TC was a bit redundant.
For bird photography (water fowl mainly), I've used an EF 300 F/2.8L IS by itself, and with EF 1.4x I and 2x II extenders, on 5D, 1D III and 50D bodies. Heavy tripod with gimbal head in all cases. The 2x results on my 5D weren't good, but where I could optimise the AF MA settings on the 1D III & 50D, they were much better, and frequently to a
If you attach a 1.4x Extender to an EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM lens, for example, it will become in effect a 98-280mm f/4 lens. If you use the same lens with a 2x Extender, it becomes a 140-400mm f/5.6 lens.
To someone coming from 70-300 or 55-250, the 70-200 IS II will be an amazing lens even with the extender. But once you start using the big whites (200 F/2, 300 F/2.8, etc), that's no longer true. So don't let my post discourage you, but that doesn't mean the zoom combination is going to be spectacular.

I recently got a hold of the Canon 2x Extender Version III. I primarily got it to pair with a Canon 70-200 f2.8 MkII to take it up to 400 mm, but I was interested in seeing how it worked with the Sigma. The following 2 images were taken on a tripod, about 50 yards out from an Osprey at rest in full sunlight.
