The hot water allows the plastic to be plyable and the jubilee clip will shrink this down to the correct size, this should never expand with heat and work loose again!. Connect the vacuum pipe up and then connect the crankcase breather hose back up. Fit the pipe from the MAF to the Plastic pipe, put the metal clips back in the correct place.
5. Undo the 8mm bolt on the powersteering line situated down between the chassis and the cambelt end of the engine and the 10mm bolt holding the same lines to the bracket down the back of the engine. (see the first pic for space and you can see the shiny bit where the bolt came out. 6. Remove all three bolts.

Great write up on all the air,pollen, fuel and oil filter changeover. Got all mine done on my 99 t4 2.5 tdi.here are my experinces/findings. Fuel filter . Pretty simple apart from difficulty at getting 2hands/arms down into the small tight gap. Didn't fill the filter with fuel so it took 2 or 3 good long turnovers of the key to get it fired
